سدا زیست پر میری جو ڈھائے قہر رکھتا تھا

دلِ مُنکر اُسی ظالم پر محبتوں کی مہر رکھتا تھا

 مُیسر خود کو نہیں رہا کبھی اپنی بھی محفل میں

یوں تو اہلِ احباب میں سارا ہی شہر رکھتا تھا

 ہواوں سا مزاج ہوا ہے اب اُس نگہباں کا بھی

روشن میرے نام کا جو دِیا شامُ پہر رکھتا تھا

کل شب کہیں اندھیروں میں  کھو گیا وہ شخص

اُمید کبھی جو بہت طلوعِ سحر رکھتا تھا

چلو اچھا ہی یے زندہ درگو ہوا مجرمِ عشق

اُجڑا کیسے خوشیوں کا چمن ان موُسموں سے کیوں نہیں پوچھتے

گر کوئی آیا بھی زندگی میں تیرے رنگ ڈھنگ لے کرکبھی
کیا ہوگا وہ تیرے جیسا میری نظروں سے کیوں نپیں پوچھتے

جب کبھی خلوت میں تیرے دُکھ سے رویا ہوں میں
تو جذب کیے ہیں اشک کس نے اپنے دامن سے کیوں نپیں پوچھتے

نہ کوئی گُل ہے نہ کوئی گلشن بس یادوں کا دہکتا اک صحرا
